I finally got one friend to not be impressed with my hi fi. Quite an accomplishment;)
What happened is that he seemed to be expecting massive room pressurization coming out of my big Maggies. But as you know, dipole speakers do not pressurize rooms the way big cone-in-a-box speakers do. And because I'm not using subwoofers, he basically left the listening session singularly non-impressed. So now I have a question (two actually): 1. Do those 'chest thumps' damage one's hearing? 2. Has anyone ever heard chest thumps coming out of non-amplified instruments? I'm trying to draw a fine line between audiophiles/music lovers, and head-bangers here. -- magiccarpetride ------------------------------------------------------------------------ magiccarpetride's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37863 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=93485 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
