Is this SB3 is not as good as a Touch but neither of them have very good headphone out ? Some would say bad headphone out.
So even if you get a Touch instead of the SB3 it leaves the headphone drive problem ? So DAC don't really have to be better than Touch only improve a bit on SB3 but provide nice headphone drive which would make the biggest difference IMO . TubeMagic makes me sceptical ? A tube for that kind of money and they don't hide that it is an special effect. And it's the D2 that seems to be the good DAC but it does not come with the headphone amp ?
