Thanks for the very interesting test and results. I have a couple of queries -apologies if these have been covered already.
Give that the test showed an overall preference among listeners for Mp3, was that preference statistically significant ie would it by regarded as genuine evidence for a positive preference for MP3. I wasn;t sure whether the conclusion was simply that people were not able to identify the supposedly better uncompressed file, or whether the conclusion was that people prefer Mp3 (perhaps it would be necessary to repaet to establish that. Do you have any data of subject ages? The reason i ask is because I recall it being suggested (perhaps unsurprisingly) that people brought up in the Mp3 era prefer the sound of it? http://radar.oreilly.com/2009/03/the-sizzling-sound-of-music.html I wondered whether the age link could be investigated. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ adamdea's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=37603 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=98010 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list audiophiles@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
