It's not "belief" it is a FACT. But then it is becoming quite acceptable, at least in the US, to completely disregard facts and science, especially when the facts get in the way of commerce. So for example, high end cable manufacturers and audio magazines disregard the FACT there is absolutely no difference sonically between a $10 USB cable and a $500 USB cable.
