Ultrasonic cleaning is used in a variety of other scenarios, so I guess it could work very well on LPs. I do wonder whether ultrasonics are going to be able to shift dried on gunge (especially using only distilled water) but I'm certainly not going to attempt to judge without any first hand experience.
I note that towards the end of the page they offer bottles of surfactant to "improve the cleaning even more". Maybe they discovered that pure water isn't enough in some cases?
