I have to agree with Dan Sturk.  Flow charting has a value, but the 
costs associated with assembling one far outweigh the benefit.

In the past, our office flow charted processes extensively.  It was too 
time consuming - even with templates.  Finally, to save us, our chief 
auditor had the flow chart program deleted.  We still gain a thorough 
understanding of the processes, but now we don't weigh ourselves 
down with the details.
