In light of the horrifying attack on the WTC and the Pentagon in the U.S. I read that many of the sites carrying news accounts could not be accessed because of the volume of (broadband) traffic. Apparently instant messaging was not affected and many people were exchanging thoughts and concerns in this IRC environment.

Have any auditors considered setting up peer to peer (p2p) IM lists for audit purposes?

If you have any interest in doing this we would need to determine which instant messaging system the majority of auditors are on. The IM systems I know of are as follows:

AIM (AOL Instant Messenger)
YM (Yahool Messenger)
MIM (MSM Instant Messenger) also recognizes MSM Hotmail mailboxes
ICQ

If there are others I would like to know.

If there is interest please let me know what system you are on and I will let list subscribers know which IM would work best as a audit p2p im network.
