The US Department of Agriculture Office of Inspector General is currently conducting a business process reengineering project with one team focused on IT auditing. As part of that effort, we are seeking information on innovative processes, techniques, tools, and use of resources that other audit organizations employ to conduct IT audits. Some IT best practices have been identified, however, our team would be interested in receiving information from audit organizations in response to the following: 1. What qualifications does your organization require, or look for, in its IT auditors, i.e., CISA, advanced IT training? 2. Does your organization use the Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (CobiT) methodology? If so, what are the benefits of using it? 3. What does your organization do to keep up with the rapidly changing IT and IT audit environment? 4. What incentives have you used to hire and retain IT auditors? 5. Information about IT auditing best practices used by your organization would be appreciated. Your responses will be summarized (no names will be mentioned) and posted to the list. It you want to call me concerning the request my telephone number is (703) 905-3915 between 7:30 AM to 5 PM EST. I am detailed to another organization but continue to receive e-mail at: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Howard R. Albers USDA Representative to FinCEN (703) 905-3915 voice and fax www.treas.gov/fincen/
