Something like that exists. :-)
It is "$AufsCVS/aufs/sample/unitonctl --whereis file".
But this script is not maintainanced for a long time, and I guess no one
is using now.

If you develop such script by yourself, then I'd suggest you to modify
sample/unionctl script.
