Oh there is! :) I'm part of pure:dyne, a Debian based liveCD/USB/HDD distro for audio and media-production, which uses Debians livehelper scripts to create the ISO images. Here is a link to our project page: http://puredyne.goto10.org While aufs is a central feature for creating live CDs with the livehelper scripts in general, the realtime patchset is something we in particular need to include in our kernel releases for providing the kind of system responsiveness needed for doing realtime audio/video work. Hence, for us the cooperation of aufs + realtime patch is actually a continuing requirement for future releases based on Debian + livehelper. The last kernel we were able to compile with both patches + squashfs was 2.6.24.7 (if I remember correctly) but that version did not prove as stable as later releases and does not include a bunch of important drivers for newer hardware we'd like to support.
