You are just confusing the mount option and the module parameter.
As I wrote, 'brs' is a module parameter.

No, it should be "/dev/shm/tmp_real/u" instead of "/dev/shm/tmp/u".
Because /dev/shm/tmp/u is not a mount point, you shoud specify
/dev/shm/tmp_real/u.
