Honestly speaking, I didn't expect so many opnions posted. :-) The idea of supporting "longterm" kernel makes sense. After reading Oliver Welter's mail, I began to think my idea to support 3.6 and later is stupid because 3.6 and 3.7 are marked as EOL (end of life?) Asking for donations, which is mentioned by Tomas M, is really important to me. Acutually in the long history of aufs, Tomas M is the biggest donator. Since I am a free software user before developer, I'd keep maintain multiple versions of aufs as possible in order to be usable for more people. It is something like a return from me to free software world. Finally which kernel version aufs will maintain? I say, - aufs3.x-rcN latest - aufs3.8 last stable - aufs3.7 still stable - aufs3.6 still stable - aufs3.4 last longterm - aufs3.2 longterm and debian's choice For a while, I will keep maintaining these 6 versions. Note that 3.2, 3.6 and 3.7 may be subject to be stopped soon. I don't know when it will be. Last but not least, I'd ask aufs users for donations. If you are using aufs and think it is useful, and wanting to keep it maintained then please make a donation via <http://sourceforge.net/p/aufs/donate/?source=navbar> or PayPal to sfjro at sf...@users.sourceforge.net directly.
