The NULL bit is obviously nonsense ... if a lens doesn't have an atype, we need to treat it as matching a tree leaf, i.e. having an atype of /()/ But regardless, doing the checks on the ktypes (and possibly vtypes) first, and then on the atype, should obviate the need for the atype_complete flag.
