It's about codifying configuration management in/for Kolab specifically, as plenty of settings relate to other settings. LDAP filters for authentication of users authorized (and properly configured) to use Kolab, for example, are in SASL, Cyrus IMAP (ptloader/ldap), Postfix, Roundcube, etc.
