/etc/grub.conf is regular config file for Grub in Fedora.

Must be an old version of Fedora. In current Fedora (16 & 17) there is no /etc/grub.conf. /etc/grub2.cfg is a symlink to /boot/grub2/grub.cfg

In fact, this is not important. The point of my post was that /etc/grub.conf has completely different content in SUSE, so it is useless to have incl /etc/grub.conf in grub.aug in SUSE. I used it as an example of problem when a sort of "conditional processing" of lenses might be useful.
