Unfortunately I had to fix it with a dirty, dirty hack, and I will have to write a substantial patch to libguestfs to fix it upstream, but at least it works. Check out my horrid hack: https://github.com/thatch45/archpkgs/blob/master/libguestfs/libguestfs.install While this works, I am open to suggestions :) I also think that this script probably explains my conundrum better.
