I would recommend waiting a bit until the AUR is open to registrations
again, unless you can demonstrate significant user demand for this right
now.

But if you do eventually add this to AUR, please consider naming the
package "kodi-addon-inputstream-ffmpegdirect-git" instead. (Or perhaps
"kodi-git-addon-inputstream-ffmpegdirect", but nothing else seems to follow
this pattern.) Hardcoding "piers" in the package name would mean you have
to rename the package whenever Kodi creates a new release.

You mention that you're following the existing naming convention, but if
I'm not mistaken there are currently only three packages that match that
pattern:

   -
   https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kodi-nexus-addon-inputstream-adaptive-git
   - https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kodi-matrix-addon-pvr-iptvsimple-git
   -
   https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/kodi-matrix-addon-inputstream-adaptive-git

All three are orphaned and obsolete and should probably be deleted. I don't
think they should determine how to name other kodi-git addon packages.

The inputstream-adaptive packages also demonstrate the problem I mentioned
before: the nexus and matrix PKGBUILDs are practically identical. Even if
they weren't obsolete, there is no reason for these to exist separately in
AUR.
