Request #18012 has been rejected by diabonas [1]: Having a stable "sane-airscan" package that tracks releases is certainly a good thing, but I see no reason to delete the VCS package "sane-airscan-git": upstream development appears to be quite active, so it might be useful from time to time to install the latest master branch.
