w568w [1] filed a deletion request for xf86-input-libinput-hires- scroll [2]:
This package is essentially xf86-input-libinput combined with a temporary patch [1] aimed at addressing the scroll speed multiplier issue [2, 3], a problem regarding slow scrolling that was historically frustrating in HiDPI scenarios. However, I have observed negligible usage of this package since 2023 [4]. Furthermore, mainstream DEs/WMs (such as KDE Plasma) have largely shifted focus away from legacy X11-specific workflows. Newer forks like X11Libre now natively support scroll rate adjustment [5]. Given that X.org has not merged this patch after six years, X11Libre has become the more viable solution for users still utilizing X11, rendering this package largely redundant. It is also worth noting that this package hardcodes a high scroll rate, which is arguably an anti- pattern. Thus, I propose that this package be deleted.
