balwierz [1] filed an adoption request for vv [2]:

Hi
This package (an image viewer) was broken for a while, and had zero
votes and zero popularity.

I am developing another software with the same name (an universal
genomic file viewer). Some months ago I adopted this `vv` package, but
then I realised that swapping with my software would look like
hijacking, and that yay has no mechanism to warn any potential user
before it is overwritten.

So instead, I requested a deletion with an intention to create a fresh
`vv` package. And I was wrong again. The package got deleted.

So I requested a revival of it. It is now back in AUR showing me as
the last maintainer.
My coding agent requested an adoption without asking and without
providing any reason. The adoption was rejected.

I plan to actually do the swap now.
The version of my package will stay lower than the last version of the
old `vv`, so it will not be accidentally installed. And I will put a
warning at upgrade + instructions how to reinstall the old one.

Tell me if there is a better way! my email is my username at google's
mail service.

My software (ready for Arch):
