somepaulo [1] filed an adoption request for audacity-bin [2]: The 'audacity' package in Extra has not been updated to the latest releases (v4.0 and v4.0.1), probably because it's now officially distributed as an AppImage. The existing AUR packages either build from source or install the AppImage. I use the OBS to build a binary from upstream's release pinned commits, and I'm willing to maintain an AUR package to install these OBS-built binaries (https://build.opensuse.org/package/show/home:somepaulo:Audacity/audacity- bin). The audacity-bin name therefore seems to be the best suited for the package.
