MarsSeed [1] filed a deletion request for python-argparse [2]:

This legacy module should not have been uploaded to AUR.

It is very old and discontinued as a separate module. Instead, the
maintained code is part of Python stdlib.

If this module is installed, it will break many Python packages.

AUR has a compatibility shim package, python-argparse-shim, that
virtually provides 'python-argparse' for those Python packages whose
setup metadata explicitly defines a requirement for the separate
argparse module. (And that package is also just a temporary drop-in
compatibility solution that is only needed until the dependent
packages' maintainers implement a simple patch to eliminate the
deprecated requirement.)
