MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge chirp-hg-py3 [2] into chirp-next [3]:
The '-hg' packages are long defunct, as upstream has migrated to GitHub. But also those legacy packages are abandoned and unmaintained. There's no '-git' package, but 'chirp-next' is essentially equivalent, providing frequent snapshot updates. I mentioned this recommendation to users in a comment.
