a821 [1] filed a deletion request for postgresql-beta [2]:
Maintainer here.
PostgreSQL only releases betas a couple of months before the next
major release, which in turn are released once a year. This means that
for a great fraction of a given year this package is useless. Just
recently, the PostgreSQL project deleted the tarballs for versions
16beta{1,2,3} and 16rc1, meaning this cannot be built.
The next beta will be released around May-2024, so I do not think it
makes sense to keep this around till then. Users are better using the
alternative `postgresql-git`.
Note: I adopted this because there was a beta available when I
stumbled upon this package, otherwise I would have requested deletion.
