MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge appleseed [2] into appleseed-git [3]:
AUR/appleseed has been broken as far back as September 2020, when its transitive dependency, python2-pyqt5 (through direct dependency seexpr-qt5) got dropped from extra repo. [a] This stable version package was set to build upstream's last release tag, a beta actually, from 2019. [b] As of now, the master branch is 284 commits ahead [c], and the last one is from July 2023. [d] It seems to make sense to keep only the '-git' VCS package, which looks to be in better shape and more possible to maintain.
