I cannot help in that regard. I don't have the expertise, but frankly, lack inclination as well. Neither Debian nor Gentoo maintain this anymore, they have switched to libsidplay2 and libsidplayfp (latter is in Arch repo as well). I have explained it all in detailed comments on the AUR page, but did not get as much as an acknowledgement of understanding of these points.
