MarsSeed [1] filed a request to merge mikutter-git [2] into mikutter [3]: It's pointless to keep the (long abandoned and broken) git package.
Upstream is very sporadically and infrequently maintained, and when it is, developer creates a stable tag immediately. Also it seems the git package is not used by anyone anymore.
