The problem appears to be less with the IGC logger & more with the
manufacturer providing an update to the PC side software so that the
executable accesses the ports through the correct windows API.  We commonly
use the USB to serial converters on our laptops & bleed profusely with PLC
programmes & such that have adapted old dos programmes without doing correct
Windows calls for the serial port.
