Yes Saturday was good, The Kingaroy valley saw heights of 10,000ft QNH, 6 off us set off on a task, KRY-Mugon-Norwin S -Dalby-KRY , we met up with Bob Ward who flew over from DDSC.
We also flew Friday which was a Cu day with heights to 8,000. Sould be a boomer for the State comps which looks like a good turnout in numbers according to the grapevine . The lift was so strong late in the day that we eventually had to call the two Puchacz down so we could get away to the DDSC AGM in Toowomba! Unfortunately, I was duty instructor (my first time running the day with my brand new level 2 instructor rating), so I couldn't fly Alice...but in any case, Shane had her in dock fitting a new port dump valve ready for the water ballast season! Sunday promised to be even better - and it was. Launching at noon in the Grob (Brian was flying Alice), we flew into a lovely thermal on tow and waved goodbye to the tug at 1,800 agl. From this position we climbed away in 4-6 kts, with the thermal topping out at just over 8,000ft qnh. We headed off to Jimbour House (reaching 10,000ft qnh on the way), where Alice met us as we took a few photos. A realy fabulous pair of spring days - even for Queensland! -- Robert Hart [EMAIL PROTECTED] Strategic IT & open source consulting +61 (0)438 385 533 Brisbane, Australia http://www.interweft.com.au -- * You are subscribed to the aus-soaring mailing list. * To Unsubscribe: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] * with "unsubscribe aus-soaring" in the body of the message * or with "help" in the body of the message for more information. -- * You are subscribed to the aus-soaring mailing list. * To Unsubscribe: send email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] * with "unsubscribe aus-soaring" in the body of the message * or with "help" in the body of the message for more information.
