Glider trailers ! there are a few things to consider when selecting a tyre for a glider trailer, questions to ask now are, does it tow well now ? or is it squirrelly above a certain speed, how much is the total load on the tyre, trailer and pay load, do you use the trailer a lot or seldom use it, these would have a bearing on what to put on a trailer, if the trailer is squirrelly above say 80 kph, sometimes replacing the radial tyres with cross ply's will settle it down as the cross ply's have less flex in the side walls, check the load rating on the tyre and make sure the replacement is well inside the rating for weight and speed. I usually recommend a light truck tyre as a good bet for replacement tyres.

Subject: [Aus-soaring] Trailer tyres

I've just bought a glider and the trailer needs new tyres.  Is there any advantage of using cross-plies or radial tyres?

Thanks,
