Does this mean I have to have my log bog endorsed or something like that?

Hehe, call it a beat up rating and prepare to be shouted at.  I think its all on the GFA web site, but basically

-A minimum height of 50 feet

-Awareness of the circuit situation and confidence that you wont be puting anybody at undue risk

-Radio calls at 10 and 5 km

I think as ever, safety it the important thing.  Some clubs have been dabling in this anyway, so for them its just a case of making it 'official', while others maybe need to go from scratch.  It's an interesting situation, because theoretically, the only people who know and have practiced how to do them are people who have flown comps with exemptions :-)  And not all instructors have :-D

But its nice to finally be able to practice.  It can only improve safety if a pilot is competent while close to the ground.

Gentlemen, some one was recently telling that the GFA now has a low level finish rating (ie beat up rating?) could someone expand on this for me please?  What are the parameters conditions etc?

Ron
