How do these stats compare to the US? I was pretty disappointed by
the standards over there from the commercial places I visited. And
they operate under the regulator.
Closer to home - I'm doing my CPL theory at the moment.
Interestingly I have far more knowledge and understanding of
Aerodynamics than any of the airline pilot wannabes. They may be
learning it out of books but they can't "see" or "feel" it.
I'd like to see a comparison between our stats and those of other
gliding nations, and between us and other aviation disciplines.

Pity they keep killing and injuring people at the rate they do.
Mark,
I was replying to Wombat's pompous dismissal of the concerns of some
of those on the Prune thread.
My comment is based on empirical observation. Check the fatal and
serious accidents over the last 5 to 6 years.
I've made my suggestions as to what should be done in the past. You
can look them up.
