http://www.cumulus-soaring.com/models.htm#Scale_Model_Kits Paul Remde is catering for an unusual market here. He will sell you a model of a Blanik. For me, it would be unnerving to walk into someones office, and see a scale model of a Blanik on the desk.. Taste remains strongly subjective. I personally reckon the Blanik would look great if they changed the nose. But what would I know. It seems they then went on to buy up a few spare Blanik nosecones and put them on the space shuttle. That must make it a pretty efficient shape if it can be suitable for such a wide speed regime? Notice that Remde draws the line at selling the unspeakable World Class glider. Maybe we should set up an online season contest for Blaniks. Then we'd see some proper flying. Any one can do a beatup in a modern glider - takes real guts to try it in a Blanik. Back in the days when real men flew gliders, Bert Persson flew 500km in a Blanik in the 70's out of Alice. Betcha Emilis and Co flew some notable tasks in the Super Arrow (not the standard Arrow) Imagine what is going to be said about the ASG 29 on this forum in another 50 years? Will it be as great as the Blanik? Simon
