Poetry on Aus-Soaring?

What is the world are we coming to?

Heaven forbid such things as couth and culture on this site!

Aus-soaring is for invigorating rough and tumble discussion and uncensored
debate [on matters sometimes?? aviation related] ......isn't it?

And yet .... rough & tumble; isn't that what the knights of old participated in?
 {Lets not go into the who and what they tumbled!}

I can see no connection what so ever between this poem and Blaniks, other than
Lee B may see the Blanik as a "Gallant Steed"

The poem ?.... Ahh .... so triste (sad), and melancholic!

The poem mentions a "knight in shining armour Coming to carry me away" Sir
Walter Scott did a somewhat different take on the theme of a bold knight
carrying somebody away. His poem is the opposite to sad - unless you happen to
be the hapless bridegroom! You may have run across it in the schoolroom,
sometime past?

It is attached, for your consideration/enjoyment/deletion.

(Note:
galiard = galliard - a lively dance for two in triple time).

  Gallant Steed

  Empty feelings surround me
  No one there to love,
No one to love me back
  This world looks so bleak,
  The haze of sadness forever
  Lingering above my head.

I know the sun is there -
  I caught a glimpse once,
  A long time ago.
  It didn’t last though
  What ever does?
  Sadness.

  Look! What do I see
  Coming across the haze?
  A horse and rider -
  Who can it be?
Yes it’s my knight in shining armour
  Coming to carry me away.

His steed will cross mountains and rivers
  Leaving the haze of sadness
  Far. far behind us
  Kissing into the deep sky
  Across the border of mortality
  Into the land of happiness.
