In the Alp's south foehn Heinz Haemmerle from Austria was able to fly a distance of 1.292 km in an LS-8 on the 26th of August. He took-off from his home base Hohenems-Dornbirn in Austria and flew the distance in a combination of rotors, waves, thermals and on the ridge with an average speed of 117 km/h. This awesome flight is a European and National record in Standard Class. 7.
