The glide ratio does appear to be about 1:2… or 45º but perhaps of
greater interest is by how much can this be varied.

In the "Grinding the Crack" video, Jeb Corliss in a wing suit cuts a
string on some balloons  being held by a man which appear to be around
2-3 metres off the ground.

How much control does Corliss have over his glide path to miss the
ground but hit the balloons at what appeared to be close to terminal
velocity?.

It makes me feel glad that I am sufficiently timid that gliding
provides enough fear.
