Seems to me if you allow pair flying the trophy should be to the team, not any individual.

I personally think it needs to be axed, or at least given zero weight in the team selection points. Alternatively, take it out & restructure the nationals to align with the WGC & EGC - ie, Club, STD, 20m; and 15m, 18m, Open.

Team (pairs only) flying should be allowed if they desire, so we can gain experience in this important skill for international competitions. Select the teams as we have been doing now, 40:60 - though select the top four (8 pilots total) from 15m & Open Class, then assign these pilots to their best team mate & class for their experience (the way the polish do it atm). Naturally Club only takes the top two pilots.

This would then allow me to do a multiple of things in my remaining 2wks: squad week, do a coaching event, long distance week, international comp, two state comps or the other nationals. Winning!
