Summary: ISO editors Issue 8 comment 031
Description:
In their comment 031 on Issue 8 the ISO editors requested that uses of "may
not" be changed to use alternative wording. The Austin Group's response was
that for uses in normative text this change would be considered for the
next TC.

The suggested changes avoid using "might", as that is another of the ISO
editors' requests.

Desired Action:
On page 99 line 3016 section 4.13 Host and Network Byte Orders,
change:
Network byte order may not be convenient for processing
actual values.
to:
Network byte order can be
inconvenient for processing actual values.

On page 553 line 19771 section 2.10.14 Signals
Depending on the
protocol, the expedited data may or may not have arrived at the time of
signal generation.
to:
Whether or not the expedited
data have arrived at the time of signal generation depends on the
protocol.

On page 3452 line 117770 section touch, change:
Some
implementations may not be able to represent dates beyond January 18, 2038,
...
to:
Some implementations are not able to
represent dates beyond January 18, 2038, ...
