GNU grep (I didn't check but most likely GNU awk as well) installs a SIGSEGV
handler so it can exit gracefully on a stack overflow error. I think it's a good
excuse to break POSIX conformance. I don't see a good reason to completely
remove the "signals ignored on entry can't be trapped" rule in either of your
links though.
