In January I started a blog on my website for technical editors.
(Years ago I published a newsletter, then got too busy to continue.) I
don't write in my blog as often as I'd like (that "too busy" problem,
again), but I have plans...
Today I published the first of a series of editing hints and tips,
which some here may find useful, especially as they relate to writing
and reviewing as well. Most of the examples will probably come from
the OOo user guides, although I do have some others.
The first things to check when copyediting or proofreading an
illustration are (1) does it show what the text says it shows, and (2)
do the labels, the figure caption, and the text agree.
