Hi,
Happy holiday weekend. It's been drizzly and gray here in Cocoa, Florida,
but in the 80s rather than 90s, so who can complain?

I retracted Chapter 3, thinking from the email chatter on Base that Kathy
had Chapter 1 and John might take down Chapter 2.

I have just uploaded my review of Chapter 3 Base into the Feedback folder, with a request for feedback on the first 12 pages of my review/edit. I left a note about my questions in the description/summary section provided on the
upload page. I jumped into this and could use some guidance.

I'm not sure who to PING on this (that's the term for calling a particular person's attention to the email?), but it's Daniel and Zoltan's work, and
TJ's name is on the file folder.

What you did was fine. Since I am the author of this chapter you could have pinged me. I have downloaded your work and will review it this week. Presently I only have Internet access a couple of times a week, it will take some time for me to reply after the review.

I have looked over your work a little more thoroughly. The results were the same: outstanding job! What I would like for you to do if you can find the time is to do a similar addition to the part about creating forms as you did about creating table. Use the same outline: a general description in words as to how to create forms. This general description should precede the detailed examples I have already given. I really think that this will make the chapter so much better than it is right now. A couple of points that I noticed: what I called the main Document Window is incorrect as you noticed. OOo Help uses the term Database file window. I have done a Find and Replace on the copy that I downloaded from the website. A second point: I use the term dropdown list because of what is contained in the Field Properties dialog that opens when you select a field and click the Control icon or right click the field and select Control from the context menu. For date or list fields, down near the bottom of the list of field properties is the dropdown property. If you want to create a Note, Tip, or Caution, I recommend you learn to use AutoText. The format for these three are contained at the end of the OOo3_chapter_template.ott which is available on the website. http://www.oooauthors.org/english/userguide3/contribute. Look in the Writing New Chapters section.
