This is one of the ways to add one of these tables to AutoText in
the My AutoText category.
Caution/Note/Tip are tables with two columns. Use the right column to
enter your text for the Caution/Note/Tip.
1) Move the cursor to the top left corner of the caution/ (table). It
becomes an arrow pointing down 45 degrees.
2) Left mouse click to highlight the entire table.
3) Control+F3 to open the AutoText dialog.
4) Enter caution for the name.
5) Enter the shortcut you want to use (I use cau.)
6)Click My AutoText to select it.
7) Click the AutoText button and select New from the menu.
8) Click the arrow before My AutoText to open its list which now
includes caution.
9) Click caution to highlight it.
10) Click the AutoText button and select Edit from the menu. (The
AutoText: caution - OpenOffice.org Writer document opens.)
11) Delete the text in the right column.
12) Save and close this document.
13) Repeat these steps for the Note and Tip tables.
14) Close the AutoText dialog.
For myself, I have gone one step further by creating an additional
category: OOo. I use the same steps except in step #8, I click the OOo
instead of My AutoText category.
Steps for creating the additional category prior to doing the above 12
steps:
1) Control+F3 to open the AutoText dialog.
2) Click the Categories button to open the Edit Categories dialog.
3) Enter the name of the Category (OOo).
4) Select the file path in which the category will be saved. (You want
to pick the path for the file in your home folder. Otherwise you may not
have sufficient permission to save this file.)
5)Click OK to same the AutoText file. The new category will show up in
the AutoText dialog category list.
