This happens to me too. Jean or someone else who's been around a while may
have better advice,
but this is what has worked so far for me. I've had some luck using the Mac
build of OOo
instead of Windows; otherwise, you can try reloading or reopening your saved
copy a few
times. Usually, especially with a shorter file like a chapter, you can get a
glitch-free read pretty easily. Generally the file itself
is all right, regardless of what it may look like on your screen at the
moment.

Two chapters of the Writer Guide are on the Review List: 3 and 11, down
towards the bottom of the list.
