Hello, team!

We have a set of user guides which are being updated to OOo V3.3. These
could be adapted to LibreOffice to provide basic info to users fairly
quickly. In the short term (if not the long term) I think OOoAuthors is
best placed to produce info for both flavors: OOo and LO.

I began this work last night to see how time-consuming it would be,
using chapters that have already been updated to OOo3.3.

The MOST IMPORTANT thing to do is update the existing chapters to OOo3.3
BEFORE anyone amends them for LO. I want to put in some variables and
other tweaks to make it faster and easier to create 2 sets of docs from
one set of files, but I may not have time to do as much of that as I
would like until after the initial 3.3 release. (This sort of reuse was
part of the plan even before LO burst upon the scene, as a way to deal
with material that appears in more than one of the OOo books.)

After the OOo3 docs have been updated comes checking them against LO to
see what is different. I am sure that a lot of screenshots will need to
be changed, as well as some of the text.

I have made a template and am applying it to the OOo3.3 docs as I finish
them. Then I'm going through the LO version of the chapters making some
changes that I notice. So far I've done Chs 1 & 2 of the Getting Started
book.

I am putting what I have done on the OOoAuthors website, here:
http://www.oooauthors.org/english/libreoffice3/getting-started/draft-lo3.3/

I stress that at this point the MOST IMPORTANT thing to do is update the
existing chapters to OOo3.3 BEFORE anyone amends them for LO, otherwise
we'll be duplicating effort. But if anyone feels compelled to jump into
LO docs, please start with those.
