Though it took much longer than I expected, the Impress Guide updated to
version 3.2 is now available for review.
The main reason why I have been so late is because I tried to write two
chapters on creating and formatting graphic objects that could be used
for both the Draw and Impress guides.
In theory that was simple as the two programs really behave identically,
but I then realized that because of the current structure of the two
guides it was not as easy as it seemed.
So last week I reluctantly decided to abandoned (for the time being) the
plan and to finish the revision of the Impress guide.
Here are two items to look out for if you decide to review some chapters:
- the only two chapters that really would need some careful revision are
chapters 5 and 6 which include some material I "stole" from the Draw
guide and some text on styles imported from Chapter 2
- I split (as part of the grand plan above) the description of graphic
styles (chapter 6) and presentation styles (chapter 3). Chapter 2 now
only contains half a page on styles. It should be checked if the text is
still clear.
