This is an excellent opportunity to be published in a popular magazine -
being published is a great thing to put into your Tech Writer portfolio.

Linux Identity Magazine ( http://www.linuxidentity.com/us/ ) has asked
me if we can put together some article submissions for an upcoming
special OOo 3.3 edition of the magazine (I know some of you here are
already contributors to this magazine and have written articles for them
in the past, so will already be familiar with the process of submitting
articles to this magazine).

OOo3.3 topics they are looking for are:

* OOo - introduction: What is OOo?, installation: Starting OOo
* OOo Writer - working with text, styles, graphics, tables, templates
* OOo Calc - entering, editing and formatting data
* OOo Math - creating mathematical equations
* OOo Base - manipulating databases
* OOo Impress - adding and formatting text and graphics objects
* OOo Draw - guide, tips and tricks, creating simple diagrams
* Macros and API

Other topics (specific to OOo3.3) are, of course, possible as well.

Article length should be 3 to 8 magazine pages, and some screenshots are
allowed (2 to 3).

If you want to get an idea of what a typical OOo article submission is
like, click on the Linux Identity website link above, then click Free
Articles at the top of the webpage. In the Main download categories,
click on OpenOffice.org. Pick any article from the list - you might
recognize a few of the author names as regular team members here in the
Doc Project :-)

The hard deadline for article submission is 19 November 2010.

So, who's first in line to prepare an article submission?

Just a reminder in case anyone here missed it. Is anyone interested in submitting OOo 3.3 articles to Linux Identity magazine? (there is apparently a per-page royalty if you're selected and published in the magazine)

If no one is interested, I'll have to let them know within the next day or so that they can make alternate arrangements for article writers.
