Better still, would one of you do this? Here is what to do:
* Open each file in OOo and export to PDF, using a filename without any
date or initials. Check it quickly for glaring errors (missing images,
bad page breaks, missing x-refs marked by Error! Reference not found --
that sort of thing). Fix as needed.

I'm in the process of updating the master document and the instructions
for compiling the full book. I and will send a note to the list when I'm
done. Whoever does the chapters is welcome, but not required, to also
compile the book.
