It's now time to start work on updating the Calc Guide to OOo3.3, so I am looking for people to help with this work.
You need to install the latest Release Candidate (RC) of OOo 3.3 for testing and screen captures. Get this from http://download.openoffice.org/all_rc.html If you are unfamiliar with the review process, read this page (Producing OpenOffice.org User Guides) and the linked "Introducing OOoAuthors" and then ask questions as needed: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Documentation/Dashboard/Producing_User_Guides Here is general information about the goals for this work: http://www.oooauthors.org/english/userguide3/res3/howto_update Here are the topics for CALC that I have found on the features list, http://www.openoffice.org/dev_docs/features/3.3/ and the chapters of the Calc Guide that need to be amended. # Increased Document Protection in Writer and Calc (info should be same as, or similar to, what is already written in Writer Guide Chapter 1; probably goes in Calc Ch1) # Common Search Toolbar (Chapter 1, probably; check where Find and Replace is covered) # Automatic Decimals Digits for "General" format in Calc (brief mention in relevant chapter) # 1 Million Rows in a Spreadsheet (brief mention, probably in Chapter 1) # New Options for CSV (Comma Separated Value) Import in Calc (use what is already written for Calc chapter in Getting Stated guide; probably goes in Chapter 1) # Insert_Drawing_Objects_in_Charts (Chapter 3) # Hierarchical_Axis_Labels_for_Charts (Chapter 3) # Changed Defaults for Charts (Chapter 3) # Colored Sheet Tabs in Calc (Chapter 1 or ??) # Adapt to Marked Selection for Filter Area in Calc (Chapter ??) # New Print Interface (Chapter 6; should be able to adapt info written for Getting Started guide Chapter 10) # Embedding of Standard PDF Fonts (Chapter 6; use info written for Getting Started guide Chapter 10) # Sort Dialog for DataPilot in Calc (Chapter 8) # Display Custom Names for DataPilot Fields, Items and Totals in Calc (Chapter 8) # New Custom Properties Handling (not sure if the File > Properties dialog is covered in the Calc Guide; if it is, wording similar to that in the Writer Guide may be suitable for Calc as well.
