I've had no problems installing or using the wiki publisher extension with OOo3.3 on Ubuntu 10.10, but mine is x86_32. It may have something to do with the 64-bit; not everything plays nicely with that. No idea why the wiki is giving you trouble, unless it's another 64-bit issue. I hope someone with wider experience than I have can shed some light on this.
