I have been reading chapter 9 of the Getting Started Guide
(Impress). Has Impress been changed that much since the early
snapshots? I am using version 1.9.118. What I see in this snapshot is
similar to what is written through the creation of the presentation
file. Then what I see on the screen is far different from what the
Guide shows.
"Choosing a slide layout" (Figure 4 in the Guide) does not exits.
Instead the OOo window contains three columns: "Slides" on the left,
"Tasks" on the right, and the center appears to be the works area for
modifying a particular slide.
